We are seeking a talented Senior Project Accountant to join our client's team north of Boston. As a Senior Project Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of diverse projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the project accounting function, overseeing all financial aspects of assigned projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial models, providing valuable insights and recommendations to project teams.
- Monitor project costs, revenues, and profitability, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for project stakeholders, including project managers, executives, and clients.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocation, and contract compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and procurement, to streamline processes and improve financial controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role, preferably in the construction, real estate, or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Timberline) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of project accounting principles, including revenue recognition, cost allocation, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
