Responsibilities The Senior Product Quality Engineer is responsible for partnering with Systems and Design Engineers to review and interpret requirements to develop Mission Assurance plans, procedures, and processes to meet sponsor program requirements. The Senior Product Quality Engineer will interact with Customers and cross functional teams in Systems, Design and Test Engineering in a matrix organization to prepare plans and requirements documents based on Draper's established Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines. These project span from Proof of Concept, Product Development and Production to customer delivery of products. The individual will require to work independently with program and engineering cross functional teams to assist them with implementation of best engineering practices and processes and provide engineering solution to focus on program execution, overall design and product quality. Responsibilities for the Senior Product Quality Engineer In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100.
Work closely with the Program and Engineering to understand and comply with the associated specs, requirements, standards, and best practices. With a technical understanding of requirements to necessary to support engineering, prototype, and production environments.
Work closely with the team to identify and manage Risks/Opportunities.
Participate in reviews of design plans, process procedures, test procedures, and quality requirements to meet customers contract requirements. Ability to review, interpret, and revise electrical and mechanical parts specifications, along with circuit card assemblies.
Possess a working knowledge of the associated requirements with IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-6012 and IPC J-STD-001. Prepare MRB documentation and reviewing and authorizing product or process deviations with customer or internal program approval. Utilizes analytical skill sets to p erform Root Cause, Causal Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action. Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with a goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects. Responsible for Handling, Storage, Marking, Packaging and Preservation and delivery of products. Provide QMS guidance and direction to program personnel for QMS compliance. Manage and oversee program document peer reviews, submittal, and approval for product's Configuration Management release.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with Programs and engineering groups throughout the organization.
Support program internal and external audits and supplier surveillance activities when necessary. Qualifications Qualification for Senior Quality Product Enginner Minimum of Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in engineering Minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering or Quality Engineering in a Product Development environment
Ability to work on cross functional teams
Understanding of Life Cycle Management
Experience with quality management systems and ISO 9001 standard requirements
Strong foundational knowledge of electronics and electronic component technologies
Proficiency in Quality Engineering and Systems Engineering discipline and requirements
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with the internal team and customer
Must possess strong organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English Preferred Qualifications : Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering degree
Familiarization with model-based engineering (MBE) frameworks/integrated model tools
Thorough understanding of FMEA and FAMECA techniques
Experience with collaborating and contributing on Multidiscipline Proposal teams
Experience working within Research and Development teams with a focus on Quality
Travel Up to 25% travel within the United States Security Requirement : Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for having/obtaining up to a Top- Secret Clearance. MF1
