Job Description

The Senior Product Engineer is an essential member of the Product Engineering Team. The primary objective of this role is to lead Cornerstone Building Brand's focus on innovation and problem solving for the building industry. This role will focus on creative ways to meet ever-changing customer requirements, with a primary concentration on new product development and improved performance. In addition, the Senior Product Engineer will discover, lead, and implement revenue generating and cost savings initiatives.

The Senior Product Engineer works directly with window and door products. There is plenty of hands-on work, and ample opportunities for visibility and recognition at multiple levels within the organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Designs, prototypes, certifies, and launches new products

Analyzes current products to ensure specifications are maintained and current

Reviews, analyzes, and determines applicability and feasibility of newly proposed products and deigns

Monitors products to ensure compliance with industry certification program standards (AAMA, WDMA, NAMI, CSA, NFRC, and IGMA)

Creates and reviews detailed drawings, schematics, prototypes, and data rich reports for coordination with other business teams

Creates and maintains product configuration data and logic in the Quoting and ERP software environments (primarily Paradigm & A+W Cantor)

Mentors, trains, and assists junior engineers

Visits manufacturing facilities to assist in new product launches, production support, internal/external audits

Participates in kaizen and voice-of-customer exercises

Visits construction sites to assist in customer service, field testing, and service department support. Occasional homeowner contact may be required

The work environment is primarily a typical office environment with frequent work in the manufacturing plant for the purpose of running tests, monitoring new & existing products, and working with manufacturing personnel. Occasional standing and walking for extended periods of time is required. Occasional visits to active construction sites is required. Standing, climbing, crouching, crawling, and lifting (up to 50lbs) may also be required. Reasonable accommodations can be made for persons with disabilities.
