Department Summary: We are currently seeking a Senior Principal Strategist for Data Analytics to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC), an organization that is unique to MITRE because: We are a team of analysts, scientists, innovators, and engineers focused on delivering meaningful solutions to national security challenges. Roles & Responsibilities: A Senior Principal Strategist for Data Analytics is needed who possesses a breadth of data analytics experience to oversee the creation of innovative solutions for protecting United States access to critical emerging technologies. This role includes directing a portfolio of solutions aligned to emerging technology protection, including MITRE internal research and experimentation using cutting edge technology, as well as ongoing sponsor mission requirement. This role includes: Evaluate and provide recommendations for novel AI/ML solutions to detect and mitigate risks to U.S. and allied critical technology.
Help shape and inform the U.S. government's approach to emerging technology protection, leveraging a robust understanding of the government stakeholders involved in the space in order to make connections, steer capability development, and generally support whole-of-nation solutions.
Collaborate with senior government officials to develop a robust understanding of sponsor requirements to create cross-cutting solutions for U.S. stakeholders across the IC, DoD, and interagency.
Performance in this position will be measured primarily by positive impact to the U.S. government sponsor and partner mission of ensuring access to critical emerging technologies. Basic Qualifications: Active Top Secret clearance
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 10 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 7 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience in one or more of the following areas: computer science, engineering, mathematics, computational social science, or related disciplines.
Experience creating innovative AI/ML solutions for large-scale data systems, including both structured and unstructured data. Experience developing and applying qualitative and quantitative methods for analyzing trends in emerging technology, including technology watch and horizon scanning approaches such as bibliometrics and scientometrics.
Program management experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.
Record of success scoping and shaping desired end-states into technically feasible projects.
Experience and interest in mentoring early and mid-career data analysts and software engineers.
Experience briefing, positively influencing, and collaborating with senior government officials.
Experience understanding and decomposing end user needs and translating those needs into technical requirements and data architectures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with multiple organizations across the IC and DoD.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site. Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance.
Experience collaborating with private industry, academia, and/or non-profits on cutting-edge technology, data, and/or methodologies.
Experience directly advising and supporting senior U.S. government officials.
Experience evaluating and leveraging publicly available information (PAI) for national security objectives.
Experience working with allies and partners on technology watch and horizon scanning methodologies.
