REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Buildings and Systems
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Supervises, inspects, and reports and assists in the repair of areas assigned for maintenance primarily of plumbing systems.
- Performs skilled work in the repair and inspection of plumbing systems and equipment to include PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
- Reads and interprets plans, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and codes in order to make decisions for action.
- Assists, and fills in for, supervisor with in-house construction projects by estimating materials to complete the project and acts as the lead person from implementation to completion.
- Maintains and provides information for preventative maintenance records.
- Performs the repairs and maintenance of electrical, mechanical/plumbing systems, fixtures, or equipment as well as grounds equipment.
- Selects tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- NJ Plumbing Contractor and/or Journeyman License
- Ten (10) years verifiable work experience in industrial and commercial plumbing systems and equipment repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
- Plumbing experience in joining pipes, installation and/or repair of plumbing fixtures, testing for leaks, and ability to clean drains or sanitary sewer lines
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Able to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to establish layouts of plumbing systems
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Trade school/apprenticeship certificate in plumbing
- Supervisor and/or Lead plumbing experience
SCHEDULE: First Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday - Friday
RETIREMENT: P.E.R.S.
