OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR PAYROLL SPECIALIST ROLE:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees, including data entry, verification, and processing of payroll transactions.
- Senior Payroll Specialist ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filing of tax returns and payment of taxes.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to maintain employee records and update payroll information as needed.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Senior Payroll Specialist stays informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Generate payroll-related reports for management review and analysis.
- Conduct periodic audits of payroll records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide training and support to junior payroll staff as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR PAYROLL SPECIALIST ROLE:
- Senior Payroll Specialist needs at least 3+ years of payroll experience.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Associates degree required; Bachelors degree preferred.
