I am with an accounting search firm and I am working with a company in the area looking to hire a Senior Payroll Manager. They have an excellent culture, room to grow within the company as time goes on and they offer a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure precise and timely processing of certified payroll for construction projects in accordance with prevailing wage laws through Certified Payroll Management.
  • Comprehend prevailing wage calculations and credits, collaborating with project managers to collect essential payroll data and documentation.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes related to certified payroll, adjusting processes as needed.
  • Employ Vista Viewpoint software for streamlined payroll processing, reporting, and analysis while maintaining and updating employee records within the system.
  • Head and supervise the payroll team, cultivating a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Prepare and submit various payroll tax reports, including W-2s, 941, State and Federal Unemployment Reporting, and other pertinent forms.
  • Generate and assess payroll reports for managerial review, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and project management teams to streamline cross-functional processes.
  • Effectively communicate with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues.
  • Act as a liaison between the payroll department and external stakeholders, such as auditors and government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years extensive experience in payroll management, specifically in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of certified payroll processes and prevailing wage laws.
  • Proficiency in using Vista Viewpoint software highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills at least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Familiarity with relevant payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
