Senior Operations Officer Job Category: Intelligence Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Local Job Description Summary: The Senior Operations Officer will perform a wide range of operational and administrative functions that contribute to the development of goals and planning efforts; when required, act as Special Technical Operations (STO) Chief to plan, synchronize, coordinate, and assess STO related capabilities in support of operations; coordinate, develop, assess, and prioritize, requirements and associated products; and develop/maintain a knowledge framework pertaining to plans and outreach lines of effort. Maintain TS SCI Clearance. Required Experience and Primary Responsibilities: Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills including the ability to communicate well in multiple mediums, perform tasks semi-independently, maintain self-discipline, establish priorities, and adjust direction as needed. Experience in assessing STO capabilities and in the development of methodologies, concepts of operations, plans, policies, and processes, as well as advising leadership on mission direction and strategies. Knowledge and experience in operational warfare disciplines and high-risk environments. The ability to assess program objectives and goals to manage multiple priorities, deconflict resources, and assist in developing cohesive operating environments. Develop and use knowledge manager tools and techniques to monitor progress and ensure timely project completion; effectively collect, analyze, summarize, interpret, and communicate information and technical data; be able to explain complex problems. Must have TS SCI clearance and be able to maintain clearance level. Additional Responsibilities and Attributes: Perform responsibilities with limited direction supervision.
Maintain awareness and understanding of current intelligence on global events, political environments, emerging capabilities, and advanced technologies.
Analyze threat systems from an operational perspective and apply to current and future efforts using logic and rational to develop unique solutions.
Research using open source and intelligence community tools; apply pertinent information to current and future projects.
Understand the Integrated Joint Special Technical operations (IJSTO) decision making and approval process; understand DoD, joint service, other federal agency, intelligence community policies, procedures, and statutes. Identify and analyze problems and propose and implement solutions to those problems.
Prioritize and align tasks to Combatant Command objectives (i.e. AFRICOM, CENTCOM, EUCOM, INDOPACOM, SOCOM, SOUTHCOM) problem sets.
Clearly and concisely communicate orally and in writing both technical and non-technical information to a variety of audiences/experience levels.
Ability to foster collaborative working relationships with multiple organizations across a spectrum of operational disciplines.
Represent the organization at briefings, conferences, working groups, and planning sessions when required.
Attend applicable training courses and garner additional experience to advance organization knowledge and capabilities.
Provide advice on necessary capabilities and how to achieve results with those capabilities.
Monitor project execution and progress to ensure work is accomplished in a timely manner. Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in any discipline; TS/SCI clearance; Ten plus (10+) years of experience in an operations role and working with special operations, combat arms, or tactical aviation; Five plus (5+ years) leading and advising teams on policies, tactics, techniques, and/or procedures. These qualifications would be nice to have: Special operations course(s) that develop operational knowledge and experience; Military leadership course(s) and experience in supervisory roles; Familiarity developing and leading training courses/programs of instruction.
