Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Summary:

CEI s entertainment client is adding a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to their team based out of Lake Buena Vista, CA. You will spearhead the development, management, and execution of engineering projects across a diverse array of attractions and facilities. These include roller coasters, round rides, omni movers, water flume rides, animatronics, parade floats, and transport systems, as well as hotels and resorts. This role involves collaboration with a wide range of professional teams and requires a deep commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, innovation, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage small to large-scale projects from design through to installation, testing, and post-turnover support.
  • Conduct detailed design reviews and ensure compliance with all operational, safety, and design standards.
  • Collaborate with Design Assurance, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety yto enhance project outcomes.
  • Report on project progress to Facilities Asset Management and other stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to engineering teams, promoting best practices and continuous learning.
  • Support partner organizations to deliver a top-tier experience for guests and cast members

Required Skills:

  • Minimum five years of experience in designing heavy mechanical equipment, such as conveyance systems or large robotic systems.
  • Prior experience in the amusement industry, specifically with mechanical design for various types of rides.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a record of strong coaching and partnering skills.
  • Expertise in Engineering and Design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Experience in performing engineering analysis using classical and computer-based methods (FEA software, Mathcad).
  • Familiarity with design standards like AWS, DIN, ASTM, SAE, and ASME.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Sciences, or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.

Desired Skills:

  • At least three years of experience with company design standards or equivalent and ASTM F24 standards.
  • Master s degree in Engineering or an MBA.
