Our client,
a global specialist in energy management and automation, is actively looking for a
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in
Foxboro, MA. This role is onsite hybrid so local candidates are required.
This is a 6 month initial contract with the opportunity to extend This client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in electro-mechanical product design and engineering.
Responsibilities - Work within a global collaborative R&D team to create and improve mechanical designs through CAD models and drawings in PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PDM systems
- Create new part numbers, detailed descriptions, and assembly BOM structures for new products and projects
- Attend engineering change order meetings and assist in end-to-end tasks to see product changes through the process
- Participate in daily and/or other regular team meetings, held online or in-person
- Utilize 3D printer equipment to evaluate new designs and/or design modifications for feasibility
- Assist in the definition of mechanical constraints needed for the creation of printed circuit board assemblies
- Assist in setting up and running tests (temperature, humidity, mechanical shock and vibration)
- Assist in support of manufacturing & quality assurance teams in the analysis and correction of manufacturing defects
- Assist in the analysis of material characteristics, dimensional tolerancing, application environments, and evaluation of returned product
Required Skills & Experience - 4 year engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience working with 3D modeling software (ideally Creo Parametric and Windchill PDM)
- Experience in designing with sheet metal, weldments, injection-molded plastic, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing
- Ability to work cross-functionally (ie with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Project Management)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and be able to review drawings
