Description

Element Energy is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to plan and manage all aspects of hardware fabrication including electro-mechanical assembly for cables/harnesses, PCBs, structures and mechanisms of battery packs and energy storage systems. The candidate will r eview and approve engineering drawings and specifications, write work assembly instructions and generate BOMs ( bills of materials ) . Our Manufacturing Engineers ensure that projects are completed on schedule, following established procedures and work plans. They also p rovide support for manufacturing operations daily to remedy issues, enable on-time product deliveries, improve quality, and reduce cost, as well as analyze defect data and implement improvements to drive down defect rates.

Responsibilities include

  • Maintain awareness of daily/weekly tasks/assignments to deliver products within the budgetary and schedule constraints.
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Technicians and Manufacturing Test Technicians to ensure successful hardware fabrication and test.
  • Understanding of writing work instructions for fabrication of electro-mechanical assemblies and specialized test equipment.
  • Understanding and experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a must . Experience troubleshooting process problems in a technical environment.
  • Strong electro-mechanical assembly and wiring/cabling knowledge.
  • Ability to operate overhead crane structures is preferrable.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of Engineering, Quality Assurance and Production teams.
  • Ability to generate assembly work instructions for assembling hardware and test equipment.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and errors in paperwork.
  • Ability to demonstrate general technical knowledge in manufacturing including interpreting complex engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with good organizational / communication skills.
  • Must hold self personally accountable for responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Must be flexible, which includes working independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Credentials
  • B.S . or M.S. degree or equivalent in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electr ical Engineering , or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/production environment assembling electro-mechanical parts, components, final assemblies, large scale integration preferably in battery packs or energy storage systems.
  • Must be a creative thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate across levels and functions. Excellent organizational skills.

Knowledge / Preferred Skills / Abilities

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Demonstrated high degree of mechanical proficiency with common hand and power tools.
  • Must be a creative thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate across levels and functions.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
