Senior Manager Information Systems - Quality Document Product Owner

In this vital role you will lead the technical team in developing and implementing technology strategies, solutions, and services to support Amgens Controlled Document Management Application (CDOCS). You will be the primary accountable lead for the CDOCS application and end-to-end service offering, responsible for partnering and collaborating with the Business Owner and other Product Owners within the Global Digital Quality organization. You will focus on ensuring successful progression of high-value efforts and technology initiatives, placing a strong emphasis on acceleration to value within Amgens Global Quality DTI (Digital Technology & Innovation) function.


As a Senior Manager Information Systems you will:

  • Lead and be accountable for the agile product team, ensuring robust product governance via PI planning and alignment with short- and long-term business and technology strategy needs.

  • Build and manage the product roadmap, secure vital investments, and manage product, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Drive a demeanor of excellence in running robust, reliable, and secure software products, following Amgens software development, operating procedures, and organizational change requirements.

  • Develop and mentor the team for higher performance and individual career growth, acting as a role model demonstrating leadership behaviors.

  • Ensure the system is aligned with all relevant regulatory requirements and Amgen procedures.

  • Manage relationships and engagements with external vendors, including SAAS service provider and manage service provider to support the management and operation system.

  • Drive our external software product and service partners to deliver excellence

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience; OR

  • Masters degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience; OR

  • Bachelors degree and 8 years Information Systems experience; OR

  • Associates degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience: OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience


In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience of life science functions, including knowledge of drug discovery and

  • Experience with regulated systems (GxP, SOX) in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology/life sciences industry.

  • Experience with Regulated Document Management applications is a plus.

  • Experience with Veeva Quality suite- Quality Docs.

  • Experience with enterprise systems, risk-based validation, testing, and change control

  • Ability to navigate, facilitate and work within a sophisticated matrix organization

  • Ability to work in a changing environment while balancing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Clear and effective presentation skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work with internal business clients to understand their business processes, manage scope of work and client expectations and suggest/recommend IS solutions

  • Excellent influencing skills and demonstrated ability to work multi-functionally with business partners and collaborators, IS teams, and external service providers

  • Experience with Agile project methodologies including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and working in Product teams

  • Ability to lead, mentor and empower staff. while motivating the team to deliver high quality services in a high demand environment

  • Demonstrated high learning agility with a good sense of ownership, motivation and drive

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
