We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, FP&A - Clinical & Development to join our team. This position will serve as a strategic business partner to the Clinical and Development organization, supporting the growing portfolio of clinical studies and development candidates. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing the planning processes, serving as the business partner to the Clinical Development organization, and assisting the Sr. Director of FP&A in overall planning process strategy and management. This position will also involve close interaction with the accounting team during month-end closing processes.


Responsibilities


  • Partner closely with the Clinical and Development team to provide effective planning and analysis; provide senior leadership & business partners with appropriate tools and analysis to establish goals and measure performance.
  • Participate in development leadership meetings to foster collaboration and ensures that financial considerations are integrated into decision making process.
  • Facilitate strategic headcount planning to align with business objectives and budgetary constraints.
  • Responsible for financial reporting, including monthly comparison of actual vs. budget results and relevant variance analysis, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team on monthly close to ensure accruals and expenses are recorded accurately and promptly.
  • Assist Sr. Director, FP&A in the management of the LRP and budget processes, support compliance of internal controls, preparation of finance materials for the Board, and other high-priority projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence, and build credibility with business partners across the organization & especially with the Clinical and Development team.
  • Educate project team leads and functional heads about the budgeting process and the importance of their role in a successful process.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree.
  • 7+ years of progressive financial reporting, planning and analysis experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Prior experience supporting R&D organizations and/or teams is highly preferred.
  • Proven capability in cultivating collaborative relationship across diverse team within a large organization.
  • System savvy, ideally with experience implementing or overseeing financial planning and reporting tools. Experience with Adaptive Insights is a plus.
  • Strong and advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills as well as solid accounting knowledge.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

This position is located in South San Francisco, CA. At this time we are not considering remote applicants.


The salary range for this position is $ 180,000 USD to $195,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may very based on the Company's compensation practices.
