What You'll Do

As the Sr. Manager of Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging and on-boarding new customers for Samsung Display. This includes evaluating the opportunity with detailed financial analysis (TAM & SAM) as well as the competitive landscape.

As the Sr. Manager of Business Development, you will have the opportunity to represent the world's leading advanced OLED/display company while engaging and building new lines of business. Your priorities will be learning and communicating Samsung Display's competitive advantages to potential customers and identifying and engaging customer prospects.

Location: Working onsite at our DSA San Jose, CA headquarters 4+ days/week AND with an average of potentially 5+ days of travel/month.

  • Interest and experience in display applications, consumer electronics like Laptops, Phones, Monitors and TV.
  • Lead and implement go-to-market propositions in a given verticals. Work with Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to produce a focused proposition.
  • Build and maintain relationships to influence long-term strategic direction and act as an advisor to the customer. You will provide detailed analyses of customer potential (annual revenue and volume) as well as fit within Samsung Display's product portfolio.
  • Work with wider Samsung Display teams to develop and drive pipelines and provide guidance. Work with Samsung Display Partners to develop campaigns. You will coordinate customer engagement efforts with Marketing, Sales and Business Development leadership both in the USA and at HQ (Korea).
  • Collaborate Product and Marketing teams to provide input on current collateral materials and ideas on how to improve them. Work towards strategic business goals.
  • Interest and ability to understand technical details of the product and be able to communicate the benefits and compare with competitive solutions. Ability to write whitepapers and solution briefs.
  • You will utilize your vast professional network to identify & engage potential customers. Build a pipeline of customers within selected verticals.
  • You will initiate and close legal agreements (e.g. NDA, Supply Agreements, MoUs, LoIs, LTAs, etc.) as needed in close collaboration and coordination with Legal (USA & Korea).
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelors and 15 years of experience, or an MS/MBA and 13 years of experience, or a PhD and 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer electronics and/or parallel industries (e.g. industrial, medical, avionics, PoS kiosk, etc.), ideally in sales or marketing roles of increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful business development and sales strategies.
  • Strong knowledge/interest of customer sourcing & supplier management strategies and contract negotiations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work across geographies and navigate language and cultural barriers.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Individual pay rates depend on a number of factors-including the role's function and location, as well as the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, education, and training. Base Pay Range

$161,700 - $258,300 USD
