Senior Manager, Global Insurance and Risk Management
The Senior Manager, Global Insurance and Risk Management, is a core member of a small team responsible for the development and administration of Asurion s global insurance/risk program. The Senior Manager will both lead and support management in developing, implementing, and managing a global insurance risk management program, including directly engaging with insurance brokers, carriers, and TPAs/consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program management: day-to-day management including relationship management for internal and external stakeholders for domestic and international programs; analysis/design of risk/insurance aspects of contracts and compliance; administration of insurance certificates; and accounting (invoicing/allocation)
- Risk Assessment: proactively identify and assess Asurion s insurable-type exposures; compile and organize underwriting data to support insurance program development and renewal processes
- Insurance program renewals: develop and negotiate insurance programs that meet overall objectives; collaborate with internal partners to prepare presentations and other materials in support of policy renewals
- Assess program structures: prepare analysis showing the pros/cons of different program structures and available coverage options; prepare recommendations that align with program objectives and Asurion s risk appetite
- Analysis: analyze loss/claim trends to facilitate dialogue on optimal risk management strategy, balancing risk-transfer/insurance, and other potential risk management actions
- Claims Management: oversee claims reporting process and achieving recovery from insurance programs in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Relationship Management: engage with broker/vendor and insurers in support of Asurion business and risk/insurance program objectives
- Subject Matter Expert: stay abreast of market conditions and other important industry developments; effectively communicate program and market/industry information and its implications to stakeholders/senior leaders
- Continuous Improvement: develop and analyze data to support the measurement/reporting on Risk Management program performance and drive continuous improvement and and/or other organizational change
- Consultation/Support: Consult with business/staff group leaders on program design and the risk/insurance aspects of current/new business initiatives, ventures, operations, product development, new geographies, etc.
- Cross-functional support: participate/lead Global Risk Management projects and/or support other activities within the broader Underwriting team
Skills/Requirements for Senior Manager, Global Risk Management:
- Bachelor s Degree with 5+ years of risk management, underwriting, consulting, claims management or related experience; MBA or similar training a plus
- ARM, CPCU or other related risk/insurance designation preferred
- Strong knowledge of risk management, corporate insurance coverages/ language, and risk financing concepts/practice
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills to effectively gather and review large amounts of data when evaluating risks
- Strong problem-solving skills; must be able to use data to form conclusions and identify strategies to approach potential risks
- Ability to collaborate effectively in arriving at the best outcome for the Company
- Ability to work non-standard hours to support international operations/partners
