Boeing AvionX is seeking a Senior Manager - AvionX Electronic Hardware to join our team in Hazelwood, MO or Plano, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a geographically distributed electrical and mechanical engineering organization developing electronics products from concept into production. The assigned organization is 100 employees in St Louis, MO and Plano, TX and 100 loan-in employees and purchased service engineers throughout the US and Bangalore India. Major benefitting Boeing programs include Fighters, Trainers, Autonomous Systems, Weapons Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Global Services platforms, and experimental vehicles and Proprietary programs. Position responsibilities: Hire, manage, develop, and motivate employees to perform engineering for electronics projects and programs. Develop, train, and improve technical processes and tools, and advise product development throughout the lifecycle. Establishes metrics for safety, first time quality, productivity, and affordability. Uses these metrics to drive continuous measurable improvements Interacts directly with program management to ensure execution on up to 20 concurrent projects is completed within schedule and cost expectations to the most rigorous quality standards Operates in close partnership with other engineering teams and project teams Ensures work group products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry, and regulatory requirements Develop and execute an organization strategic plan that ensure business, technical and customer requirements and goals are achieved Maintain staffing profiles, resource allocations, and schedules as a part of a matrixed organization for 100 direct reports and 100 loan-in employees and purchased service engineers. Actively participate and promote teaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing consistent with a technical growth mindset. Serve as AvionX spokesperson and advise executive leadership and customers on technical approaches, Electro-mechanical engineering status, and certification for AvionX projects and programs. Supports new business activities providing staff, advice, and gated approval of proposals (cost, schedule technical, risk/opportunities) This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 15+ years of experience in Avionics, Electronics, Robotics, or similar 10+ years of experience in management or relevant leadership experience 5+ years of experience leading, coaching, hiring, and developing people including those who are not your direct reports Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 15+ years of experience in electronics product development activities collaborating with customer-facing organizations and internal executing team 10+ years of leadership experience developing electronics: concept, architecture, design, product development, integration, testing, verification & validation, certification/qualification, and production handoff 5+ years of experience as a manager responsible for hiring, staffing, developing, retaining, and motivating employees Experience with Aerospace Electronics Engineering processes and tools throughout the development lifecycle Skilled in managing an organization of leaders/managers in successful talent management and execution of tasks within many concurrent development projects in different phases but all leading into production. Includes continuous performance monitoring and improvement projects. Technically experienced with aerospace avionics line replaceable units (LRUs), especially computers, management systems, network systems and displays, and associated technologies, and their development and certification Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
