This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and experienced Senior Manager, Marketing Operations to be responsible for the successful execution of email campaigns. This person will collaborate with Investor Relations, Marketing, and Client Experience to define target audiences and implement strategies that will increase the impact of HarbourVest's email programs, using data and technology to scale the campaign process. What you will do:

Team management:

  • Lead a small team to scale, manage, and implement HarbourVest's email marketing and operations using Marketo as our key platform for client and prospect communications.
  • Mentor and support team members on marketing automation best practices, Marketo usage and quality control of campaigns.

Email Marketing Management:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize email marketing campaigns targeting clients and prospects.
  • Oversee the creation of email content, templates, and automated workflows within Marketo.
  • Be responsible for client and interest-based lists for future nurture campaigns.

Marketing Automation:

  • Lead and maintain the Marketo platform, ensuring seamless integration with other marketing and CRM systems, such as Salesforce.
  • Develop and optimize marketing campaign processes to increase scale, drive efficiency and conversions through data-driven insights and integrated tech-stack, including developing nurture campaigns aligned to firm priorities for lead generation.
  • Segment and target audience lists to improve campaign effectiveness and personalization.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate regular reports on email marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Apply data to drive strategic decision-making, optimize marketing efforts and quantify return on investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • As part of the Marketing Communications team, partner with cross functional teams within marketing including Digital, Events, Design, and Content, to define objectives and critical metrics, coordinate the email marketing calendar, establish and target audiences and implement campaigns for client engagement opportunities (e.g. thought leadership, news, webcasts, events).
  • Work with the broader Investor Relations organization including account investment strategy and account leads, Client Experience, Commercial Operations, and Product Marketing to coordinate and manage operational client communications from fund updates to organizational updates to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with business objectives.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance for review and approval of campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and vendors to support marketing initiatives.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement the marketing operations strategy to enhance client engagement and acquisition.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in email marketing and automation.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
What you bring:
  • Proven experience developing and managing email campaigns using Marketo and Salesforce
  • Proficiency in using data to optimize campaign processes and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team

  • Adept at the art of managing senior business partners

Education preferred
  • B.S/B.A. in Marketing, Business, or related field
Experience
  • 5-8 years of marketing operations and automation experience
