Responsibilities: - Lead technically on projects, documenting results and observations to enhance ongoing improvements.
- Execute hands-on technical tasks involving Linux servers and desktops.
- Handle escalated support tickets, diagnosing software, hardware, and networking issues.
- Perform Linux system upkeep and software installations.
- Set up IT hardware, services, configurations, directories, and storage to meet standards and project criteria.
- Apply monthly security patches as necessary.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, setup, and issue resolution procedures.
- Manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities to accommodate customer demands.
- Provide proactive support to management regarding technology strategies, process enhancements, and implementations.
- Monitor the performance and health of laboratories, assist users, and enforce IT policies.
- Develop operational procedures for lab use and support, identifying opportunities for process enhancement, tool improvement, and automation.
- Contribute to crafting a vision and strategy for non-production environments and assist in their implementation.
- Install and set up AFMS products in AFMS lab environments (both on-premises and in the cloud) and at customer locations.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- Experience with various server types (web, file, license, application, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, PERL, etc.).
- Experience with RHEL-based Linux distributions.
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible preferred, Terraform a plus).
- Familiarity with VMware vCenter and vSphere v6.5 or newer.
- Experience with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of networking and TCP/IP.
- Understanding of patch management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and coordinate several concurrent tasks.
- Able to interface with users in a pleasant and tactful manner.
- Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new IT technologies.
- Willingness to occasionally work non-standard hours as required.
- A team player with the ability to work well independently with limited direction
