Job Details

The Senior IT Support Specialist supports the Company in developing and maintaining the company's computer network, various applications, hardware, and related telecommunications equipment. This position demonstrates technical experience and a commitment to applying expertise in implementing and maintaining various technologies to maintain the company's networks and applications operating efficiently, while maintaining a secure environment.

The role will support our head office located in Tucson, Arizona as well as our satellite site offices located 45 to 60 minutes south west and east of Tucson and our project office in Yerington, Nevada. Frequent travel ( 30%) will be required to the site offices.

Ongoing Accountabilities:

1. Help Desk Operations
Provide first level contact and convey resolutions to customer issues.
Properly escalate unresolved queries to the next level of support.
Track route and redirect problems to correct resources.

2. End User Support
Walk business users and peers through problem solving process.
Follow up with customers, provide feedback and see problems through to resolution.
Perform user, mobile, telephone, and computer provisioning activities to deliver desktop services to business users.
Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers' expectations.
Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of incidents.
Recommended procedure modifications or improvements
Preserve and grow your knowledge of help desk procedures, products, and services.
Act as the first tier of support function and escalate to higher tiers or third-party service providers where applicable and appropriate.

3. Procurement, Contract, and Administrative Support
Perform procurement activities for technology requests and stock items for manager approval.
Perform contract renewals to ensure that no risks or gaps in services occur.
Track all hardware deployed and ensure assets are appropriately safeguarded

4. Other
Ensures appropriate transfer and/or disposal of obsolete computer and network equipment.
Tracks and maintains software licensing to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
Provides technical training/assistance to system users on a variety of desktop operating systems and packages.

Qualifications:
Preferred skills and abilities of the Senior IT Support Specialist shall include, but not be limited to:

Perform other related business administration work as required.
Posse a solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.
Posse a solid understanding of operating systems; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts (inode, clustering, logical partitions), can use performance analysis to tune systems.
Have extensive experience in TCP/IP, L2TP, BGP, MPLS, PPP, OSPF
Have a thorough understanding of QoS techniques and implementation.
Technical knowledge and experience with the following: VoIP, L3 switching/routing, Network management tools, and Cisco routers and switches.
Have extensive experience with implementing, maintaining, and monitoring Microsoft Server environments, Exchange server environments, Active Directory and LDAP
Have a thorough working knowledge and experience with implementing, maintaining, monitoring Cisco hardware and software including routers, switches, Adaptive Security Appliance devices, and wireless access points.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related plus 7+ years' experience. (10+ years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement
A+, Microsoft, and Cisco certifications or a combination of shall be preferred.
