We are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Senior Inspector with a passion for excellence and a mind for detail to join our dynamic construction team. This is a permanent role that offers an opportunity to work on diverse, high-profile projects that reshape our communities. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks related to bridge engineering, rail inspection, and railroad construction. This role demands a deep understanding of rail design practices and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications through engineering computations.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Inspector, your duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Overseeing and conducting thorough inspections of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
2. Reviewing and interpreting engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure the accurate execution of construction projects.
3. Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards and applicable codes.
4. Supervising and coordinating activities of construction inspection staff.
5. Preparing detailed reports on the progress and completion of projects, including any issues or deviations from plans.
6. Collaborating with project managers, contractors, and other construction staff to ensure project success.
7. Providing technical guidance and training to junior inspectors.
8. Ensuring compliance with OSHA 10 Hour Safety and OSHA 30-hour guidelines.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Inspector role should possess the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on bridge engineering, rail inspection, and railroad construction.
3. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred.
4. OSHA 10 Hour Safety and OSHA 30-hour certifications.
5. Proficiency in engineering computations to read and interpret plans and specifications.
6. NICET Certification is a strong advantage.
7. Extensive knowledge of rail design practices.
8. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
