Job Description:




The Role

We are looking for experienced back-end/middle-tier engineer with a strong AWS experience, API/data experience, and the ability to work across a range of technologies.

This person will be responsible for:



  • Hands-on development & expertise across middle-tier (Java micro-services), cloud (AWS) and back-end (Oracle/Postgres)
  • Helping to design and implement our platform modernization strategy
  • Delivering platform solutions to support key PI Distribution initiatives
  • Platform support across the e2e SSC platform



The Expertise and Skills You Bring



  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years hands-on experience as a software engineer
  • Proficient in Java and experienced in developing APIs and micro-services
  • Hands-on AWS experience such as S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, Glue, CFN, AWS certification preferred
  • Extensive experience working with data and databases, ideally Oracle PL/SQL ,Postgres (Aurora RDS) and Snowflake
  • Ability to trouble-shoot complex data issues across the e2e technology stack
  • Understanding of modern data architecture & Java principles and patterns
  • Experience of moving from a monolith to a distributed/micro-service architecture
  • CI/CD & container experience: Jenkins, Udeploy, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to mentor and grow skills of other developers



Other desirable skills include:



  • Rules development using Drools, IBM ODM, or equivalent
  • Data streaming using SQS, Kafka or similar
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Python
  • Experience with variable compensation systems and domain



The Team

The SS&C team builds and runs the Incentive Compensation Management Platform (ICMP) for Fidelity s Personal Investing (PI) group. We directly support more than 20k PI associates, ensuring that variable compensation is correctly calculated, paid, & reported.

Our team is comprised of technology squads primarily based in North Carolina, New England, & Bangalore. Our platform consists of multiple back-end internal capabilities integrated with SAP Sales Cloud for compensation & reporting. We are in the middle of a multi-year program to modernize our e2e platform, moving from an on-prem/batch monolith to a cloud/event-driven implementation.
