PAY RANGE: $97,600.00 - $105,000.00 ANNUALLY

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs various finance and analytical functions for Golden 1 Credit Union, including but not limited to financial reporting, financial analyses, and maintaining financial systems/models. Act as lead for other analysts in the Finance & Business Intelligence team. Employees in this area are cross-trained in several aspects of finance, treasury, and other relevant analytical functions and will assist the Finance & Business Intelligence team in special projects.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS

Perform the following job duties and responsibilities in accordance with corporate policy and procedures, within established timeframes:

1. Support strategic financial initiatives to aid in the achievement of multi-year ongoing financial objectives to support the financial position, growth, and profitability of the Credit Union, through effective long-term capital management.

2. Assist in the routine preparation of financial reports for the Credit Union including, but not limited to, information for management reports analyzing financial performance by channels, markets, and peers.

3. Analyze the monthly financial statements and reports, and communicate variances and relevant findings in support of the financial plan.

4. Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger accounts, components of the balance sheet, income statement, key ratios, products, and other pertinent financial data.

5. Using PowerBI and/or Excel, aggregate multiple data sources into a single story to summarize the results of a review into actionable points for Senior Management to support business decision-making.

6. Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

7. Learn and gain an understanding of lending/deposit rates, policies and procedures impacting responsibilities.

8. Update procedures in response to changes in operational activities or technological upgrades.

9. Perform reviews or validations of other Financial Analyst work prior to, or in lieu of, review by Team Leadership.

10. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.

11. Conduct ad hoc market research, special studies, reviews, analyses, and all other duties as assigned.

12. Update and maintain financial models including, but not limited to profitability and pricing models through scenario and breakeven point analyses.

13. Analyze financial results and synthesize through written reports or dashboards, with clean and concise visual charting.

14. Prepare or create ad hoc financial models, analyses, spreadsheets, visualizations, and presentations that effectively present data and analytical findings for management as reference for strategic decisions, committee review, and other information requests.

15. Continue to expand on an understanding of lending/deposit rates, policies and procedures impacting responsibilities.

16. Perform reviews or validations of Financial Analyst I work prior to, or in lieu of, review by Team Leadership.

17. Develop and maintain financial performance-related expertise in assigned business lines to provide deep-dive analyses into metrics, trends, and anomalies while providing insights to drive improvements and support ongoing business line initiatives and projects.

18. Develop and maintain financial models, metrics, graphs, reports and any other means to measure and monitor Golden 1's financial position. This includes researching, querying, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating qualitative and quantitative data associated with the credit union's financial strength and stability.

19. Use statistical concepts and tools to find causation, patterns, and trends to develop or better inform existing financial models.

20. Actively supports the Asset/Liability Management (ALM) function through data preparation and validation

21. Proactively collaborate with management, other Financial Analysts, and assigned lines of business in the Credit Union to define, analyze, and study financial performance-related issues and data.

22. Coordinate the assessment of internal and/or external industry trends, market, product, member, and channel performance to identify gaps and additional value areas to maximize financial performance and operational efficiency.

23. Work with Leadership and with other Financial Analysts on complex analyses, using data to add value to our business partners.

24. Develop reports for executive management and credit union committees, ensuring that the reports are accurate and thorough.

25. Develop and Recommend Internal Controls and other relevant improvements.

26. Monitor and document progress toward significant strategic goals and policy adherence.

27. Routinely maintains a pulse on the financial position and financial trajectory of the Credit Union through dedicated monitoring of the balance sheet, income statement, key financial ratios, and other supplementary reports.

28. Is ever vigilant of developing financial trends and proactively shares findings and recommendations with senior leadership.

29. Actively supports the Asset/Liability Management (ALM) function through working closely with consultants to select, process, and validate data for ALM models.

30. Provide analytical support to the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) through quarterly analysis and written presentation of the ALM model results.

31. Contribute to and lead the creation of deliverables including preparing various and wide-ranging reports pertaining to corporate strategic focus areas.

32. Lead the research and development efforts undertaken to improve the Credit Union's products, services, and operations.

33. Increase productivity by developing automated applications, eliminating duplicating effort, and coordinating information requirements.

34. Lead complex analysis projects, coordinating and delegating work to Jr Analysts and business partners to ensure success.

35. Proactively ask questions and use data to answer theses questions, creating new value-add knowledge for the Credit Union.

36. Gather and integrate data and contextual information to design rigorous analyses to support carefully crafted projections.

37. Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to build periodic trend analysis reports, and present insights and findings that are relevant, actionable and visually appealing to management.

38. Review and maintain an understanding of current and future economic landscape and internal and external influences.

39. Develop and provide written and verbal recommendations and alternative solutions based on the results of analyses, taking into consideration internal and external factors, and the Credit Union's strategic goals and initiatives.

40. Assist with workflow, monitoring the ticketing queue for new work and ensuring it is assigned to the right teammate for success.

41. Assist with the technical skill growth and business knowledge growth of junior Financial Analysts.

42. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.

43. Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS

1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to prepare reports and perform other related tasks.

2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.

3. Hand-eye coordination required to read, post, and handle complex computer programs and report.

1. INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management.

2. EXTERNAL: Vendors, external auditors and other financial institutions or business sources.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION: Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology or similarly quantitative/analytical degrees). Equivalent work experience with required knowledge/skills may be substituted for other degree types.

2. EXPERIENCE: 5 - 12 years or more of progressive finance experience. 5 - 12 years of Analytical Experience. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within credit union/banking operations.
