The Facilities Maintenance Department is looking to fill the role of Facilities Maintenance Specialist in the Lee's Summit, Missouri facility. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will execute all functions of the Facility Master Sanitation Schedule, including preventative maintenance tasks, critical systems testing, facility cleanliness, and groundskeeping. The Lee's Summit facility is one of the primary manufacturing sites for producing customized thin-wall injection molded containers, lids, overcaps and custom packaging solutions for branded and private label food and consumer product companies all over the world. Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Location: Lee's Summit, Missouri

What you will bring to the role:

A reliable, dependable candidate who will bring a team player mindset with the ability to work autonomously as needed.

The successful candidate will:
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned mechanical room equipment including replacing filters, lubricating, cleaning, and monitoring.
  • Test and maintain chemical treatment systems on multiple process water systems.
  • Perform routine testing on fire suppression and life safety systems.
  • Maintain and repair facility lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain and repair warehouse fixtures and equipment such as dock levelers, overhead doors, racking, etc.
  • Carry out custodial duties on assigned areas in accordance with the master sanitation schedule.
  • Perform non-routine projects such as construction, demolition, and equipment installations.
  • Setup and prepare facility amenities to accommodate meetings and special events.
  • Perform necessary repairs and improvements including painting, floor installation/repair, and carpentry projects.
  • Assist in the startup, shutdown, and maintenance of the plant over holidays.
  • Assist in the repair and recovery from unplanned breakdowns, power outages, storms, etc.
  • Have basic understanding of the refrigeration cycle and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on HVAC systems with working knowledge of common maintenance practices.
  • Have experience reading a multimeter and using common electrical tools. Knowledge of electrical system components including fuses, breakers, switches, transformers, etc.
  • Have basic knowledge of plumbing system principles and the ability to correct common issues such as clogs and leaks.
  • Have knowledge and experience related to the maintenance and troubleshooting of basic power transmissions systems including belts gears, chains, rollers, etc.
  • Have experience with common hand and power tools. Ability to select and modify basic building materials to accomplish installation, construction, and repair projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.
Additional requirements:

Candidate will be required to:
  • Obtain training and licensing to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
Candidate must be able to pass a Post Offer Essential Function Test (POET) and an Occupational Examination to demonstrate the capability to safety perform the essential function of the job to include:
  • Vision Test
  • Hearing Test
  • Dexterity Test on Wrists, Grip, and Pinch (grip must be within the gender and age requirements for each candidate tested)
  • Lifting test to confirm ability to lift 50 lbs. from ankle, knee, and chest height to a level of ground, 35" and 55" height.
  • Push/Pull test to confirm ability to move 80 lbs. to confirm ability to move product via an assisted device in our facility.
