Job Details

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates and managing the bid process for our wide range of projects. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial viability of our projects and requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional numerical accuracy, and a deep understanding of the construction and engineering industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing the proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identify key variables, and develop complete understanding of cost structures to ensure accurate, detailed and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and manage bid Drywall and Metal Stud Framing.
  • Conduct material take-offs and coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability and timely delivery of materials.
  • Utilize software tools such as On Screen Take Off/QuickBid, QuickBid, and Bluebeam to facilitate efficient and accurate estimating.
  • Prepare and submit RFI's and manage responses to ensure all information is received in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and present cost reports, including forecasts and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to resolve any potential design or implementation issues.
  • Understand and evaluate project schedules and project risk factors.
  • Monitor and review bonding and insurance requirements for each project.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the engineering industry.
  • Proven experience with bid Drywall and Metal Stud Framing, Proposals, schedules, blueprints, Cost Estimation, material take-offs, RFI's, bonding.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as On Screen Take Off/QuickBid, QuickBid, Bluebeam.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
