Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator. In this position, you will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and local safety-related regulations. Proactively plans, directs, and implements the company's safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and injury/accident-free work environment. This role reports directly to the Safety Manager. Location: Belen, NM What you'll do: Plan, lead, and participate in plant safety meetings in partnership with plant and safety management. Implement, inspect, and maintain job site and office SDS manuals. Train employees in safety-related policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and prevent access to hazardous conditions. Ensures the implementation, administration, and maintenance of all facility-specific EHS programs. Assist and participate in all EHS continuous improvement initiatives relating to OSHA, EPA, and best management practices. Determine corrective or preventative measures, assign responsibility, and follow up to ensure the corrective measures have been implemented Conduct periodic plant safety inspections to ensure safety procedures are in place, accurate, and current. Provide recommendations and assistance to safety and plant management concerning plant hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation, and safe material or substance utilization. Ensure the SDS program is maintained and all necessary personnel are trained on the procedures. Manage hazardous materials control program, review samples, and test for hazardous materials before the start of operations. Ensure all safety communication and information is developed and disseminated promptly. Investigate accidents and promote safety-conscious work performance and training programs. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in an engaging manner. Frequently communicate with Business Leadership and Corporate Safety to inform them of pertinent issues. Maintain training records in the employee files. Other duties as assigned. What you'll need: Bachelor's degree in safety science, safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, occupational health, engineering, or other industrial discipline. 5+ years of experience working in safety in an Industrial/ Heavy Manufacturing environment Certifications preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) Associates Safety Professional (ASP) Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) Knowledge of: Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) American National Standards Institute (ANSI) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Workers Compensation regulations Ability to deal with situations involving sensitive and confidential company information. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects promptly. Ability to make decisions and operate independently concerning complex issues and business requirements. Working Conditions: Full-time, salaried position Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds which operate 3 shifts and frequent weekend shifts This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
