As a Senior Engineer in the Advanced Mask Optimization group, you will enable the continuing shrink of semiconductor devices through resolution enhancement, match the imaging performance across a fleet of scanners, and assist in future scanner design.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

As a member of the Source-Mask Optimization R&D team, the job entails large-scale C software development that optimizes the photomask patterns, their sub-resolution assist features across a fleet of ASML family of XT, NXT, NXE, and EXE scanners. The job requires an understanding of the signal processing, Fourier optics, optical physics, modern optimization and machine learning algorithms, and C software design.

Education and experience

Ph.D. or M.S. in physics, physical chemistry, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, computer science, or related areas.

Knowledge of optics, semiconductor lithography, and IC design.
Experience in scientific simulation, numerical methods, image processing, optimization, computational geometry, machine learning, data sciences is a good plus.
3+year experience in C or other object-oriented software development.
Solid understanding in data structures and algorithms.
Experience in developing and debugging multi-threaded/parallel applications.
Familiar with UNIX environment and scripting languages.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $141,750-$236,250. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
