We are seeking a Senior Director of Toxicology to provide scientific and administrative leadership. Responsibilities include allocating and prioritizing resources, consulting on scientific and business issues, budgeting and approval of expenses, communicating and implementing corporate priorities and policies, implementing departmental or divisional strategy, streamlining business practices and service on intra- and inter-departmental committees. This role plays an integral part in developing world-class medicines for Lilly.

Responsibilities
  • Review responsibilities and approval authority as outlined in Toxicology & Pathology Roles and Responsibilities RACI
  • Provide strategy planning and oversight of toxicology research and portfolio support activities of the division
  • Supervise research and professional staff. Develop performance plans and objectives for staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide mentoring and coaching to staff to facilitate their professional development.
  • Participate as a member of the Toxicology-Drug Disposition Lead Team and Toxicology Study Design Approval Committees to review and approve Toxicology plans and study designs. Review and approve Toxicology global regulatory submission documents and responses, Tox/Drug Disposition plans, and data packages prepared for internal governance committees.
  • Engage in external partnerships and manage business relationships and vendors
  • Perform responsibilities delegated by senior management
Basic Qualifications
  • PhD in Toxicology, or related science OR
  • DVM with MS in Toxicology, public health or related science
  • Technical Expertise in Pharmaceutical Toxicology (>5 yrs)
  • Regulatory Experience with nonclinical safety issues (>5 yrs)
Additional Skills/Preferences
  • DABT preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ICH and Regional Regulatory guidance
