Senior Director, Commercial Analytics and Forecasting

•  Job Location: On-Site Waltham Deciphera is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing important new medicines to improve the lives of people with cancer. We are leveraging our proprietary switch-control kinase inhibitor platform and deep expertise in kinase biology to develop a broad portfolio of innovative medicines. Enabled by our proprietary drug discovery platform, Deciphera has developed a diverse pipeline of wholly-owned drug candidates. QINLOCK (ripretinib) is Deciphera's switch control inhibitor developed for the treatment of fourth-line GIST. QINLOCK is approved in Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We wholly own QINLOCK and all of our drug candidates with the exception of a development and commercialization out-license agreement for QINLOCK in Greater China. In addition to QINLOCK, we have identified and advanced multiple product candidates from our platform into clinical studies, including vimseltinib and DCC-3116. See here for more details on our portfolio. This position will report to the Vice President, Commercial Insights and Operations and work on-site at our Waltham, MA office. Deciphera embraces a flexible workplace. You will work out of our Waltham, Massachusetts office. Deciphera expects a minimum number of in-office days. Specific days spent in the office should be determined in conjunction with your manager. Deciphera Pharmaceuticals is searching for a highly motivated, insightful, and resourceful individual to join and lead the analytics and forecasting team within Commercial Insights & Operations. This highly visible role reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Insights and Operations. What You'll Do:
•  Lead and expand analytics and commercial systems team to support commercial decision-making for currently commercialized as well as soon-to-launch products
•  Work closely with both Commercial and Finance leadership to build, analyze, and communicate accurate forecasts of both quarterly demand and revenue for the US markets for multiple brands
•  Oversee the evolution of forecasting methodologies to accommodate market events and reflect the lifecycle of each brand
•  Define long-term commercial analytics and platform strategy, including:
•  Implement, maintain, and continually improve BI platform and "big data" analytics processes as needed
•  Lead continual improvement of data, data environment, and associated reporting that will keep the trust of the organization
•  Display a high degree of creativity and innovation in problem-solving, proactively developing new approaches, processes, and methodologies to maintain consistent and reliable commercial operations
•  Effectively and seamlessly work at multiple "altitudes" within the organization. Maintain a "no job is too big or too small" attitude necessary to succeed in a small pharmaceutical environment
•  Expertly manage vendor partners/consultants and lead project teams to achieve milestones and objectives within the approved budget
•  Operate in adherence with legal, compliance, and regulatory guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry; comply with and/or refine SOPs, policies, and training to ensure broad understanding and compliance with such
•  BS/BA degree in science, economics, mathematics, business, or related discipline. An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred
•  10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consulting industries, including 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial forecasting, commercial excellence or advanced analytics roles, reporting and/or data science
•  Oral oncolytic or rare disease experience, preferably including launch experience
•  Small pharmaceuticals/biotech experience, preferably in developing new capabilities
•  Deep experience with pharmaceutical data (e.g., IQVIA, SHA, Patient Claims, Specialty pharmacy, Hub, EMR, etc.)
•  Expertise in leveraging data science methodologies against structured and unstructured data assets (IMS/Symphony prescription and medical claims, CRM, Specialty Pharmacy, EMR data, etc.)
•  Proficiency in one or more data science programming languages (e.g., R (preferred), python/pandas, etc.) Leadership and interpersonal qualifications for the role:
•  Experience developing strategic leadership plans to grow the capabilities over time of an analytics function
•  History of being a true solutions-oriented team player who is authentic, humble, able to foster a positive team spirit, lead through the ups and downs of a launch, and support everyone's efforts to grow and develop
•  Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, sales and marketing teams, finance, and IT, to drive alignment and support for analytics initiatives
•  Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
•  Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands and adjust approaches/methods to best fit the situation with maturity and professionalism
•  Has led substantial initiatives, including implementing new processes or technologies, to improve efficiency and effectiveness
