Job Description

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity for Gilead to launch a new product for Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC).

The Senior Director of HCP Marketing, PBC, will report directly to the Executive Director of Marketing, PBC, and lead the Healthcare Professional (HCP) strategy and execution of Gilead's Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) business. The successful candidate will be a key leader on the marketing team and responsible for the strategy and execution of HCP promotions to support the PBC market. A key responsibility will be launching the product in the United States. They will provide strong leadership skills with the ability to set a vision, manage change, and drive performance within a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic commercial environment. The Senior Director will be responsible for budget oversight and management of key agency partnerships.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
•  Oversee the development and implementation of strategic and tactical promotional plans for HCPs
•  Develop the PBC Plan of Action (POA) for field sales teams; coordinate with Commercial Learning and Development (CL&D) to guide implementation
•  Distill market research findings into insights that support the POA, positioning, and messaging. Coordinate with the market insights team to set the future direction for insight generation
•  Cultivating relationships with thought leaders, key customers, and professional organizations
•  Partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Medical, Clinical, Regulatory, and Public Affairs, leading cross-functional projects as needed to support the launch
•  Representing US PBC marketing position on the Promotional Review Committee
•  Working in close conjunction with commercial operations to establish appropriate procedures, systems, metrics, and infrastructures
•  Collaborating with other marketing and sales leads to ensure a coordinated approach concerning product promotions
•  Oversee all agency relationships and performance
•  Develop marketing solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
•  Assist with forecasting and budget decisions
•  Design the transition to the branded campaign and full build-out of all promotional materials (both personal, non-personal, and pull-through promotion)
•  Lead, in partnership with CL&D, the training and integration of PBC with existing HCV and HBV sales teams
•  Leading a cross-functional team to monitor and understand the competitive PBC market. Provide recommendations for resource allocation (i.e., marketing mix) to adjust accordingly
•  Lead competitive readiness planning to lead market share vs. competitor products and for future PBC agents

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of experience or

Masters' Degree and 12 years of experience or

PhD and 12 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:
•  10+ years of marketing experience, primarily within pharma/biotech.
•  Prior people management experience is required with the desired sales leadership experience.
•  MBA preferred, and a bachelor's degree in marketing or related fields is required.
•  Healthcare professional promotional expertise in prior roles is preferred.
•  An extensive understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and their impact on the development of marketing materials, experience, or exposure to Gilead franchises is preferred.
•  Firm command of financial management with an understanding of revenue forecasting, expense budget planning, and tracking.
•  Prior relevant experience in Advertising, digital or communications agency experience a plus
•  Prior relevant therapeutic area experience: rare disease, liver, or immunology
•  US launch experience in a competitive market space
•  Sub-part H materials pre-clearance experience
