  • Contract-to-Hire, 12 months
  • This position is hybrid. The resource will need to travel to Reston and D.C. 3-4 times a month for meetings with senior leadership and communication team.
  • The resource will need to be local to the D.C. area

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Communications Consultant who is a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a passion for driving impactful communication strategies . This will provide executive leadership with a platform for articulating organizational goals, fostering transparency, and aligning with the Company's vision. The consultant will offer strategic oversight and direction for various communication needs. This role involves leading the development of strategic communications, including tactical printed marketing materials, digital communications, presentations, thought leadership, and talking points. Additionally, collaborating with senior leadership to prepare them for high-stakes engagements and fortifying their everyday communications will be crucial. The consultant will also leverage analytics to gauge effectiveness and pursue continuous improvement in communications engagement.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and communication team to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies.
  • Lead executive communication initiatives, including crafting messaging for C-suite executives and senior leadership.
  • Drive strategic communication efforts across digital platforms, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging.
  • Develop and deliver presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate town hall meetings and other organizational gatherings to communicate key updates and initiatives.
  • Organize and manage conferences, including planning, logistics, and communication outreach.
  • Provide crisis communication support, including outlining messaging for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and external partners, including plans and other stakeholders.
  • Produce various communication materials, including talking points, presentations, digital content, and thought leadership pieces.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience in executive communications, strategic planning with proven ability to develop strategies.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Executive level presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in a senior communication role, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting messaging for executive-level audiences.
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to develop and execute communication plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple communication vehicles, including internal communication, external communication, and crisis communication.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Experience working in the executive communication industry, with a track record of success in delivering high-level messaging.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Healthcare / Healthcare Insurance background and/or experience.
