Senior Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll records.
  • Reconcile financial statements and bank statements on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring compliance with hospital and industry-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as billing, procurement, and administration, to ensure proper financial management and smooth operations.
  • Prepare financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare-specific financial guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within the healthcare or hospital industry.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping software and financial management systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of hospital financial operations, revenue cycle management, and billing processes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare-specific compliance regulations, such as HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
