Senior Azure Administrator Job Overview Responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of Azure Cloud environment.
Responsibilities and Duties •Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on Azure platform
•Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and policies for cloud infrastructure design and operations
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, including performance bottlenecks, network connectivity, and resource contention
•Focuses on creating the foundational elements necessary for hosting applications, services, and data within the Azure environment
•Collaborate with various internal teams to define infrastructure requirements and design scalable and reliable cloud architectures
•Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance, including identity and access management (IAM), Azure policy, encryption, and network security
•Monitor, optimize, and scale cloud infrastructure resources to ensure performance, availability, and cost-efficiency
- Understanding of cost/billing modules in Azure and be able to build scalable resource tagging
Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience with design and administration of Azure Cloud Services
- Excellent understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure, with hands-on experience in architecting and implementing secure solutions
•Expertise in Azure Cloud Architect, including but not limited to Custom Imaging and VDI/Hypervisor, Intune and MDM management, VNet and Resource Groups, and Azure VPN gateways
•Experience in Azure migrations: specifically, "Lift and Shift" migrations
•IAM Concepts: Deep understanding of IAM concepts such as authentication, authorization, federation, multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), role-based access control (RBAC), and least privilege principle
•7+ years of hands-on experience with Azure migrations, Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, Terraform, and disaster recovery
•Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers as they relate to IAM and cloud infrastructure
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Creating comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures, ensuring knowledge transfer and maintaining system integrity
Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate a plus Operational understanding of ISO 27001 a plus
Education and Training BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Required) Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (This is highly recommended) Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (This is recommended)
