This role is based out of our Patuxent River Office with occasional travel and remote work options to support out-of-area DoD, Federal Civilian, and commercial clients as needed. The Senior Acquisition Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide multi-disciplinary support to government system acquisition program management offices and will serve as an advisor/teammate to government personnel. The chosen candidate will offer strategic acquisition planning expertise across critical capability life cycles. This includes guidance in planning, executing, and controlling acquisition programs; organizing, training, and supervising a support staff. Will work with senior government personnel on a regular basis, and will frequently be called on to provide briefings and lead large meetings. The ideal cand idate for this position will possess US Navy acquisition experience with an active TS/SCI clearance. Acquisition experience from other DoD service acquisition organizations is also considered highly relevant. Versatility and the ability to produce high-quality work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment are essential. Candidates should excel in active listening, possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate a collaborative approach in engaging with both clients and team members. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering acquisition services that align seamlessly with the customer's mission objectives. Responsibilities encompass a range of support services, including: Analyzing and evaluating requirements to devise optimal acquisition strategies. Facilitating and spearheading collaborative working groups aimed at enhancing the customer's acquisition capabilities for mission-critical products and services. Crafting comprehensive acquisition documentation spanning the full system life-cycle. Conducting thorough reviews and analyses of bids and proposals. Providing additional support services integral to the acquisition process. In essence, this position ensures the smooth and efficient execution of acquisition services, contributing directly to the fulfillment of the customer's mission goals. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have: An active DoD Top Secret with SCI clearance (TS/SCI) Master's Degree 10 years of experience supporting the development, test, procurement, integration and sustainment of major aircraft programs 5 years in a leadership position Extensive knowledge of NAVAIR program management policies and procedures and application to development, production, fielding and sustainment of major weapon systems Extensive experience with Defense Acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives required Ability to work effectively both independently and a part of a collaborative team Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal Ability to travel up to 15% Additional desired experience and skills: Experience with Requirements management in support of a major acquisition program Experience working with Service specific Fleet Readiness Centers and Supply Chain Management Experience with Manpower and Training Broad experience with development, coordination and communication of program integration strategies and recommendations with mid- and senior-level Service and OSD personnel Company Overview Serco Inc.
