The Senior Acoustical Consultant is responsible for all sizes and types of projects from concept to completion with the benefit of in-house coordination with multiple other disciplines. You will lead the project in all facets by interfacing with clients, providing technical excellence, and managing the project schedule to achieve a successful project outcome. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day acoustics and noise control design activities, across multiple projects. Maintain awareness of project scope and fee status, monitor schedule, and oversee the execution of deliverables. Research, plan, and coordinate the acoustics, noise, and vibration elements of multiple client projects. Gather and analyze acoustical data including field measurements of reverberation time, sound transmission, impact isolation, vibration, and mechanical noise. Conduct site noise and vibration testing, modeling, and simulation. Prepare drawings and reports to document findings, convey recommendations, and design innovative solutions to mitigate noise and vibration issues. Provide onsite observations to review the implementation of a project's acoustical solutions. Coordinate with design team members concerning acoustical and vibration design details and specifications. Work closely with clients to provide expert consulting services and engineering solutions that use state-of-the-art tools and technologies. Manage architectural and environmental acoustics consultation efforts throughout the entirety of the project. Assist with business development, proposal writing, and managing project financials. Qualifications You'll Need: Bachelor's or master's degree in architectural acoustics, mechanical/electrical engineering, physics, or a related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural acoustics consulting, noise control and vibration consulting or engineering, and their application in various industries Expertise in a broad range of acoustics applications, including room acoustics, architectural sound isolation, mechanical system noise and vibration control, environmental noise, and structural vibration Experience in conducting environmental noise and vibration impact assessments, noise and vibration measurements, and prediction of noise and vibration levels General knowledge of sound masking as a supplement or enhancement of architectural sound isolation and privacy Capable of skilled, largely autonomous work coordinated with overall project teams and managers Strong technical writing and presentation skills, especially to non-professional/scientific audiences Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment Familiarity with building design phases and construction Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with clients Project management experience Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; must be highly proficient in Excel Knowledge of design team collaborative applications in Revit/BIM360, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam Revu Proficiency with technical equipment and software including Sketchup, SoundPLAN, INSUL, EASE, EASERA Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Odeon, CATT, COSMOL, and Max/MSP Bruel and Kjaer or Larson Davis meters and software familiarity INCE Board Certification Professional affiliation with acoustical-related organizations such as ASA, NCAC, INCE, or IIAV Pre-existing client connections Architectural or Professional Engineer license Why Choose TLC?
