Senior Accounting Specialist

The Senior Accounting Specialist, under the direction of the Accounting Manager, is responsible for supervising two for the timely and accurate delivery of accounts payable and accounts receivable services on a daily basis for their Foundation Philanthropic operations.
- Research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
- Review all accounts payable transactions including data entry, coding, approvals, processing cards, outgoing wires, ACH and checks for weekly and end of the month check runs.
- Process year-end 1099's including mailing, filing and corrections
- Review accounts receivable transactions
- Maintaining schedules and reconciliation of various accounts and preparation of journal entries
- Participate in cross departmental and cross organizational teams, financial projects and planning activities as needed
- Assist with internal audit as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
- Likes to figure out processes and "why" so a quick learner
- A team player who can work independently and not afraid to ask questions
- 1-2 year of experience supervising
- NetSuite and non-profit experience
- Any endowment or foundation cash receipts and realized gains with stock transfers a plus
