Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team. As the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our accounting team and ensuring the timely and accurate operational accounting of various financial aspects, including banking, payables, receivables, travel expenses, credit cards, and general ledger accounting. You will also play a key role in implementing and enforcing internal controls to safeguard company assets and compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role requires a detail-oriented, hands-on mindset, leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence within the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting team, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate operational accounting for banking, payables, receivables, travel expenses, credit cards, and general ledger accounting.
  • Review bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage the month-end close process, review, and post journal entries as necessary.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Communicate, enforce, and enhance internal control compliance for Purchase to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash, and Record to Reporting processes.
  • Collaborate in the development of Finance modules in Netsuite from the Accounting & Reporting perspective.
  • Be a key leader within the Finance team, driving operational excellence in collaboration with internal partners in Procurement, Manufacturing, Construction, and People.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and processes.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience with a Big-4 audit firm, progressing to a manager level.
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience in a corporate environment, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • 2+ years of experiences with NetSuite closing the year end journal.
  • Previous experience in a technology startup environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a hands-on mindset.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to build, develop, and manage teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and implementing financial processes and systems.
  • Experience working in a global business environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • A master's degree in Accounting/Business or qualification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or auditor.
  • Expertise in internal controls required for accounting and financial reporting in the U.S.
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • CPA certification is preferred.

This is a full-time position with our growing team in our wonderful San Leandro Warehouse facility. As an employee, you'll be eligible for our benefits, such as:
