SENIOR ACCOUNTANT / SEC REPORTING ANALYST

The SEC Reporting Analyst/senior accountant is an integral part of a growing accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting and SOX Compliance. Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of all SEC filings (10K, 10Q, 8K, Proxy Statement, Form 4/Section 16 reporting), and maintenance as well as participating in the monthly close process, which may include preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations. In addition, this person will play an active role in stock administration, interacting with our third party stock plan administrator regarding equity activity (grants, exercises, RSU releases, ESPP) as well as engage with our third party consultants on stock based compensation expense. We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, articulate, professional, has strong attention to detail and is able to work in a fast-paced and growing organization. In addition, this person needs to be agile and be able to adjust to changing environments as new processes are being implemented. This person must display a good understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, lease accounting (ASC 842), and Stock-based compensation (ASC 718) and display proficiency in the quarter and year end process for SEC reporting. This position interacts with finance personnel, external auditors, accounting consultants, department managers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in monthly close process and ensure all responsible GL transactions are accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and book journal entries for month-end close, including updating balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing reconciling items. This includes ASC 842 journal entries, bank entries, Stock based comp, as well as ad-hoc entries, as needed.
  • Interact with Accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts as well as understand financial transactions impacting financial reporting disclosures.
  • Collaborate with our third party consulting firm to prepare the Company's stock-based compensation expense.
  • Interact with our third party stock plan administrator regarding equity activity and updating Equity Edge Online.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly consolidated financials (consolidated trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) for external reporting purposes and quarterly reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of SEC filings and supporting documents, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, section 16 reporting, Form 4's, Proxy Statement and other required filings. Responsibilities include preparing schedules to support footnote disclosures in 10Q/10K filings.
  • Maintain and update SOX documentation and audit schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Special projects as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • Minimum of five years experience with Big 4 experience of at least 2-3 years, and public biotech/pharma industry experience of at least 2 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX 404 compliance
  • Hands on experience with Active Disclosure preferred
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects while exemplifying stellar interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with Dynamics Business Central
  • Results and goal-oriented mindset with an opportunistic eye towards process improvements
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize work. Have the agility to adjust quickly to new priorities
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively

Pay Range$107,000-$148,000 USD
