Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our construction industry team. This position is a critical role in our organization and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of accounting tasks, including month-end close, fixed assets, reconciliations, budgeting, and GAAP. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity for career growth and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded in a timely manner.
  • Manage the company's fixed assets, including recording acquisitions and dispositions, calculating depreciation, and conducting periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the company's budget, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure all financial transactions and reports are in compliance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, providing necessary information and answering inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the company's financial reporting process.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in month-end close, fixed assets, reconciliations, and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Continuous learner, staying updated with changes in financial regulations and best practices in accounting.
