Senior Accountant

Due to growth. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the overall deliverables for their clients Quarterly financials, monthly cash flow and daily disbursements. Mentoring and reviewing work of staff accountant when position is available. Direct client contact for processing client's bills and setting up new accounts for service.



KEY DIMENSIONS

  • Act as primary point of contact and relationship manager for client, family and outside service providers
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly financial statements to clients and/or client service teams in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare Excel worksheets containing analysis of client financial data such as broker analysis and construction or investment history spreadsheets
  • Generate client cash reports using Data faction accounting software for monthly client deliverables and for in-house review of client disbursements and updating disbursement reports
  • Alerting Director or Manager to possible leads for cross-selling and for client asset protection issues.
  • Downloading data from brokerage, bank and credit card accounts online into GL System for efficient and accurate record keeping.
  • Review client disbursements for accuracy in payment and coding
  • Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of records, reviewing same work when staff accountant is available to perform reconciliations.
  • Performing work of staff accountant when position is either missing or temporarily out of office.
  • Special projects as needed.
  • Coordinate with tax group and provide information as needed

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain accurate books and records for clients personal and business activities. Position must accurately and timely process bills using accounting software provided. Position interacts daily with client and 3rd parties to collect vital data.
  • Primary manager of client cash account and must ensure sufficient funds are available for forecasted and extraordinary items such as capital calls and construction progress payments
  • Ensure confidentiality of client's records and files when dealing with client staff and 3rd party advisors. Discreetly hold and manage online access codes for banks, brokerage accounts and credit card activity
  • Coach and mentor staff and be a knowledgeable resource for basic accounting, software needs and proper communication techniques
  • Accurate and timely processing of personal bills for high-net-worth clientele. Reviewing recurring items and processing both routine weekly check runs and special expenditures.
  • Process deposits and ensure they are made timely.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field preferred
  • 4-6 years Accounting experience. Preferably with individual accounting, small companies or consolidated financial reporting

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills; detail-oriented; team player
  • Proficiency in word and excel.
