Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-experienced Contract Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This role will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting functions, including financial analysis, general ledger maintenance, financial statement preparation, grant accounting, and internal controls. As a Contract Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and laws, and providing valuable financial insights to drive decision-making. This is a contract position requiring a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
  • Manage and oversee the entire accounting team conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain internal control systems to ensure compliance with accounting standards and laws
  • Handle grant accounting and reporting, ensuring that funds are correctly allocated and reported
  • Collaborate with the finance team and other business units to improve financial procedures
  • Assist with tax preparation and planning in compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws
  • Provide strategic financial insights based on financial analysis and projections to the management team

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA is a plus
  • A minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, general ledger management, financial statement preparation, grant accounting, and internal controls
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address all levels within the organization
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
