Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a strong understanding of financial regulations. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.

Analyze financial data and provide insightful variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Coordinate and facilitate the annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor management.

Monitor and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Assist with audits conducted by external auditors, providing documentation and explanations as needed.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.

Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards, implementing updates as necessary.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting role.

Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

Thorough understanding of GAAP and experience preparing financial statements.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring junior staff.

High level of integrity and commitment to upholding ethical standards in financial reporting.
