Senior Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform monthly financial close functions through preparation of financial statements

Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts

Monthly narrative analysis of significant financial variances month over month

Maintain internal control safeguards over company assets and operating environment.

Develop, maintain, and evolve documentation of processes and procedures to produce consistent reporting of financial results of multiple business units

Understand and maintain ERP system operations, identifying and correcting system issues as necessary to maintain integrity of financial information.

Prepare and/or review workpapers and schedules to ensure audit readiness

Act as a Peer Advisor and mentor for new staff and provide valuable feedback

Providing training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance, accounting procedures and financial statement review.

Any other responsibilities as assigned by leader, special projects, and ad hoc needs as they arise

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting.

Professional accounting certification CPA or CMA.

5 to 10 Years previous accounting experience required. Public accounting experience preferred.

Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel, Sage-Intaact (required), Floqast, and related accounting business systems

Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Critical thinker who can utilize resources and resolve issues with little supervision

Operating in a private-equity owned environment a strong preference.
