A bit about us:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join a fast-paced, high growth real estate company in the finance industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full cycle of accounting duties, from preparing journal entries to producing financial reports. This role will be integral in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

This position is hybrid and will be working in the office 3 days/week in an up and coming area in Austin, TX. This organization is ideal because they are the parent company for many large hospitality chains but the corporate office is smaller. The luxury of a large organization and of a family office feel are both present in this company. There is also a lot to learn and a lot of growth

Job Details

As a Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for our real estate portfolio.
2. Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
3. Conducting month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
4. Performing intercompany reconciliations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
5. Preparing and submitting SEC reporting documents.
6. Maintaining and verifying the fixed assets register.
7. Ensuring compliance with sales and use tax requirements.
8. Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and developing improvements.
9. Maintaining the general ledger system, preparing balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
10. Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Senior Accountant position, you must have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the real estate sector.
3. Audit experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
4. Proficient in creating and maintaining journal entries and general ledger.
5. Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, intercompany reconciliations, SEC reporting, fixed assets, sales and use tax, and budgeting.
6. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
9. CPA certification is a plus.
