Duties As a SECURITY SPECIALIST at the NH-0080-3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as technical security subject matter expert on relevant Information and/or Acquisition Security/Program Protection policies, regulations, and procedures. Develops, evaluates, and implements Information and/or Acquisition Security/Program Protection procedures and/or direction in compliance with applicable laws, orders, directives, regulations, and instructions. Provides authoritative expert security Information and/or Acquisition Security/Program Protection advice and guidance to senior and other Agency personnel in all aspects of the development and deployment of acquisition programs. Collaborates with Program Protection (MDA/DEI), Security and Emergency Management (MDA/DSS), International Security (MDA/DIS), and other Agency security and intelligence subject matter experts to ensure the protection of programmatic classified and controlled unclassified information/material throughout the acquisition life-cycle. Represents the organization at mid-level security and protection meetings internal/external to MDA (Defense Agencies/Services and/or Departments, Defense Industrial Base partners). Develops, evaluates, and implements multi-disciplined security plans and standard operating procedures to support specific requirements for Information Security (Core) and/or Industrial Security, and Operations Security (Matrix) to protect National Security Information and Controlled Unclassified Information, and material. Identifies and resolves complex procedural conflicts and policy issues as they pertain to the receipt, handling, storage, transmission, classification, and destruction of National Security Information and/or Controlled Unclassified Information, and material. Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight for contractor security analyst support. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/ GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below, please posses at least 2 of the following: Experience developing, interpreting, and implementing Department of Defense (DoD) and Defense Agency/Service-level security and program protection principles, methods, and techniques to protect information in support of the development of complex DoD acquisition programs. Experience with security principles, methods, and techniques related to development, acquisition, and deployment of complex weapons systems. Experience developing, evaluating, and implementing Information and/or Acquisition Security/Program Protection procedures and/or direction in compliance with applicable laws, orders, directives, regulations, and instructions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
