We are looking for a junior level Security Specialist in support of the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office within the Program Executive Office for Missiles & Space. At this level the Security Specialist is relied upon to display initiative and resourcefulness in recommending methods for improving procedures and processes relevant to security management program within the IFMC Project Office's Headquarters. Your day-to-day work will include: Providing administrative and clerical assistance in one or more of the following security program areas: Personnel, Information, Industrial, Foreign Visit support, and Access Control. Performing administrative functions impacting the security staff such as maintaining the calendar of events and recurring requirements, suspense dates, reference publications, and stocks of forms and supplies. Developing and compiling statistical information for reports, charts, and records; data required to support security related studies, analysis, projects, and other administrative support requirements. Preparing itineraries and agendas, programs of instruction, and aids relating to various security programs, inspections, and conferences. Performing office automation work, which includes word processing, electronic mail, and/or personal computers. Processing incoming and outgoing military and civilian personnel who are assigned or attached to the IFMC Project Office; furnishing, checking, and completing a variety of security-related forms. Completing a variety of forms, documents, and tasks to obtain checks of records, Security Classification Guides, and regulations used for applying proper security standards. Being responsible for handling security activities with the highest degree of discretion and sound judgement. Administering Visit Authorization Requests (VAR) and access to IFMC, a secure facility. Screening incoming VARs and enters data into the command database validating visitor access for the access control team. Accessing the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) or Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to transmit outgoing and verify incoming visitor clearance message/requests. Coordinates with industrial security managers and Facility Security Officers for contractor visitors. Using standard processes, forms, and methods, provides support to the personnel, information, and industrial security missions, to include reviewing documents, material, information, and forms. Performing briefings, conducts initial security indoctrination for employees after initial or interim clearance is granted. Providing general responses to queries on basic security requirements, clearances, need-to-know, safeguarding classified information, and the responsibility to report suspected security violations. Assisting in development and improvement of security briefings, educational, and awareness products. Performs other duties as assigned. At a minimum you should have: An Active SECRET security clearance. A High School Diploma or GED with 1-5 years of relevant work experience. Effective communication skills including written, verbal, and interpersonal with various levels of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a team player. Proficient in the Microsoft Office toolset (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel). This job description is subject to change at any time.
