Duties Conducts the Task Force (TF) Command Operations Security (OPSEC) Program with a systematic approach to safeguard operations and activities from compromise which requires integrating security practices and principles. Conducts the brigade security inspection program to include planning, design, coordination, and evaluation of security policies and program. Responsible for the overall safeguarding of security information. Coordinates intelligence estimates and appraisals, assesses credibility, reliability, pertinency, and usefulness with a view toward identifying significant facts and deriving conclusions for command consideration. Organizes and implements Task Force (TF) Security Education Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Two year trial period may be required. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information. Must obtain a government passport. Must have a valid drivers' license. This position is "Emergency Essential" and will be subject to on-call and irregular work hours. Selection for assignment to this position requires passing appropriate physical examination for overseas duty. This position may be required to comply with Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of1968. Employee is subject to short notice recall and must reside within 50 miles of duty location. This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program, requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment. Additional information This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13. It is approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for use in the Army via the following memorandum: Memorandum, Assistant Secretary of Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, dated 8 September 2015, subject: Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. The SPeD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training, and develops a workforce of certified security professionals. This position requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment. Subsequent SPeD certifications are required with the requirement to complete one per year each consecutive year thereafter in the order mandated by the SPeD certification sequence and/or as mandated by the position supervisor and/or organization leadership. This position is "Emergency Essential" and will be subject to on-call and irregular work hours. Position is considered essential to support DA's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. Position is considered emergency essential because (1) no qualified and immediate replacement exists and (2) leaving position vacant would (a) impair the effective operations of essential military support systems, or (b) adversely impact the combat mission of deployed forces.
