Duties Manages and conducts oversight of all aspects of PERSEC to include management of the credible derogatory reporting program, the security clearance process, and oversight of all major subordinate command (MSC) PERSEC programs. Serves as a Security Specialist in the Security and Protection Division, Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DoIS), working on policy matters and procedures concerning Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Industrial Security. Develops and assess security requirements to protect controlled technical information (CTI) in support of research technology protection efforts. Provides policy guidance and oversight to AFC HQ and Direct Reporting Units. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). TDY maybe required 25% or less of duty time. All AFC employees may be subject to extended TDY or be required to work additional duty hoursduring crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Must be able to obtain and maintain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within first two years of employment. Technical Competence Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
