Duties About the Position: As the Army's primary integrator of C5ISR technologies and systems, the U.S. Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center conducts Research and Development, or R&D, across a wide variety of capability areas that support all of the Army's Modernization priorities. These include cyberspace operations, electronic warfare, intelligence, data analysis and fusion, tactical network design, wireless communications, radar, sensors, electro-optics, mission command applications, autonomy and machine learning, power and energy, modeling and simulation, counter-IED, minefield detection/defeat and assured positioning, navigation and timing. It is through employment of a dedicated and superior workforce, world class facilities and global partnerships that the C5ISR Center delivers needed capabilities to our Warfighters. Incumbents will support acquisition of goods and services necessary to advance the state-of-art in C5ISR technologies needed to meet current and future Soldier needs. Summary of Duties: Perform a range of protection services involving complex situations. Conduct extensive investigations, determines whether standard or special procedures are needed. Prepare incident reports. Apply knowledge of the latest rules, procedures, and methods of safeguarding information and controlling access to unauthorized areas. Contact employees or visitors for the purpose of providing information or instruction or to resolve operating problems. Perform roaming patrols to ensure security of all buildings, access points, perimeter barriers/fence lines. Utilize Command and Control devises to ensure full visibility of facilities. Perform additional checks of areas with temporary alarm system failures. Attend combined training opportunities with Law Enforcement Agencies and DoD Guard Forces. React to changing requirements as presented unexpectedly and or directed by leadership. Perform daily operability and safety checks on duty vehicles and communication devices. Appointment to this position is subject to a Three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Position requires you to successfully complete CPR and First Aid training. Position requires that you are designated an emergency mission essential employee. Incumbent will be required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual physical agility test (PAT). Failure to meet the PAT requirements as outline is Army Regulation 190-56, the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program. Failure to meet the standards after the second attempt within a ninety-day period will result in separation. Incumbent must undergo and pass annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability. Standard for medical exams are prescribed in AR 190-56 , the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. Position requires pre-employment drug testing and on a recurring basis thereafter. Position requires shiftwork and/or work on rotating shifts to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays and in other situations. Some overtime work (scheduled and unscheduled) may apply. Scheduled tour of duty will require evenings, weekends and holiday work hours. Must have a valid state driver's license. Position requires employee to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing. Incumbent may be required to wear chemical protection masks, gloves, and other protective equipment. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DK-01 pay band (GS-04 level) in the Federal Service which includes: 1) Working with other organizations and entities to quickly resolve security concerns; 2) Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries concerning access to a restricted facility; AND 3) Identifying and preventing unauthorized contraband and access. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (DK-01/GS-04). For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
