Job Summary:The Security & Dispatch Operations Center Technician are responsible functioning as the radio systems administrator for all BioSpectra locations and coordinating all radio communications, dispatching Patrol, Maintenance and other departments and personnel as needed. Providing incident response support, verifying the security of BioSpectra facilities, providing and coordinating all site emergencies such as Fire and Police response and hazmat response. Also ensuring that weekly and monthly test are conduct on all monitor equipment are execute. Additionally, they secure and safeguard the facility and surrounding areas remotely by observing and communicating suspicious activity, assisting with investigations, maintaining paperwork, logs and other required documentation.Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor television and Internet resources, within the guidelines of the BioSpectra Information Services Usage Agreement, for impending weather and traffic conditions.
  • Control access to all BioSpectra locations as needed or directed, by strictly enforcing the Badge /Fob Access Policy.
  • Monitor all telephone lines in the Security Operations Center both non-emergency and emergency calls
  • Assist with Patrol Officers, Supervisors, Managers, Visitors, Contractors and Employees throughout the tour of duty regarding a variety of conditions such as suspicious activity, various access related questions and requests, safety hazards, maintenance equipment failures and alarms, security equipment failures and alarms, requests for services from escorts to emergencies and various other conditions.
  • Be trained and thoroughly familiar with the Closed-Circuit Television system (CCTV), monitor areas from which calls for assistance.
  • Review Pass-down Book daily to keep track of the previous day's activities
  • Log daily activities, incidents, and alarm activities into the Pass-down Book
  • Run daily test to ensuring all CCTV(s) are functional; report technical malfunctions
  • Monitor EHSS inbox, taking the appropriate action
  • Dispatch EHSS Tech's to all alarm notifications to investigate alarms Answers high volume incoming calls from employees, contractors, and personnel
  • Covers the Badge Administrator when needed
  • Run weekly test of the duress /panic buttons
  • Keeps close communication with EHSS patrol officers
  • Manages and responds to security incidents and events
  • Assist and directs vendors when on site
  • Assist with medical, fire, and security emergencies, calling local authorities when appropriate Maintains and performs "EHSS Inspection Checklist" daily per SOP.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, building, and door access points.
  • Maintain daily log of employees on/off property.
  • Maintain safe employee entrance & exit walkways; perform removal of debris and snow as needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Answers high volume incoming calls from employees, contractors, vendors and BioSpectra personnel
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting trespassers to the proper personnel.
  • Completes accident reports when applicable.
  • Assist with development and implementation of EHSS policies
  • Dispatch Medical, Fire, and Hazmat emergencies, and Environmental authorities when appropriate
  • Assists Human Resources with termination procedure
  • Maintain/Compile/Issue hard keys
  • Assist Operations in door numbering and door/zone mapping
  • Monitor Alarm and Camera Systems. Make notifications when needed
  • Inspect EHSS Equipment to ensure functionality and readiness in the event it is needed. Examples include: Eye Wash, - Safety Showers, -Fire Extinguishers, Spill Kits, PPE , Inventories, etc. Generate inspection report and make notifications required to have repairs made.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings and activities.
  • Complete Audits to ensure compliance. Report findings to manager.
  • Develop/Write SOP's if necessary
  • Cross trained in all aspects of EHSS Tech day to day duties to assist when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in law enforcement, Security, EHS, or other closely related field
  • Able to manage multiple security applications and alarm notification systems
  • Answers high volume incoming calls from employees, contractors, and personnel Experience in emergency notification systems such Honeywell, Siemens and Simplex
  • Have knowledge of gas and air monitoring systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, EHS practices in a business and manufacturing environment as well as enforcement procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with management, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write and investigate required reports; to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to learn cGMP, QA program and Safety programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, Walk, or Sit for extended periods
  • Climb, crawl, bend, twist, carry, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout shift
  • Work around chemicals and/or hazardous materials
Work Hours:
  • 12 Hour Shifts: Night Shift: 6:00pm to 6:30am
  • Non-Exempt Position: Eligible for a 15%-night shift differential
  • Alternating Weeks: Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat/ & Sun/Wed/Thu
  • Ability and willingness to work from all BioSpectra facilities
