Summary You will serve as a Security Assistant (OA) in the Provost Marshall Office Marine Corps Police Department of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. This Job Opportunity Announcement is using an additional online assessment tool to evaluate applicants. Duties You will register vehicles aboard the installation and issue appropriate vehicle access passes. You will screen application and documentation presented for base long-term and temporary vehicle passes. You will record traffic citation data in various databases and adjudicated traffic citation upon customer walk-in or telephonic contacts, awarding the required number of points as identified in regulations. You will process contractors/vendors for local business/contractor base access passes. You will verify the applicant's identity, determine eligibility, base sponsor and prior history of pass issuance to ensure that the individual is authorized short-term access to the installation. You will receive and process Sponsored Visitor Forms. You will prepare, maintain and file the daily blotter and all relevant correspondence, records and documents, required by policy, governing the operation of the Provost Marshall Office. You will control, issue, retrieve and maintain accountability of supplies and equipment. You will utilize computerized equipment to enter data into a database and print reports. You will ensure proper records storage safeguards are in place and records are archived/destroyed and disseminated. You will manage and control the use of the vehicle fleet by dispatching and retrieving assigned vehicles and by tracking the mileage and usage of vehicles, ensuring administrative paperwork is completed on each vehicle prior to and after its use. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following clerical and administrative duties: 1) Preparing and maintaining security files and records; 2) Drafting routine correspondence relating to security; and 3) Providing customer service in support of security programs (e.g., pass and identification, police records, physical security, entry point control, acquisition).
